India Elections : SC to hear Varun’s plea on NSA
BJP leader Varun Gandhi moved the Supreme Court on Wednesday (May 13) for a direction to the Uttar Pradesh government to enforce an Advisory Board’s recommendation that there was no need to detain him anymore under the NSA.
The Supreme Court on Thursday will hear Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Varun Gandhi’s petition seeking quashing of the National Security Act (NSA) invoked against him even as his parole ends today.
A bench headed by Chief Justice K G Balakrishnan will hear Gandhi’s petition challenging the imposition of National Security Act on him by the Mayawati government for his alleged hate speech intimidating minority community.
