Election Commission team has reached Bengal to supervise the first-level checking of electronic voting machines

A three-member Election Commission team has reached Bengal to supervise the first-level checking of electronic voting machines (EVMs) for the upcoming assembly elections.

This comes ahead of the visit by a six-member team, led by Bihar CEO Sudhir Kumar Rakesh, to run a check on the state’s law and order situation.

PC Gupta, joint CEO of Rajasthan, Anjini Kumar Mishra, deputy CEO of Jharkhand, and N Praveen Singh, joint CEO of Manipur, are the three observers sent by the EC to oversee the examination of EVMs.

While all 93,000 EVMs are going to be checked in the presence of political parties this time, the EC has also instructed mock polls for 10% of EVMs.
