India Elections : CPI(M) demanded EC to disqualify Varun

CPI(M) on Wednesday demanded that the Election Commission (EC) disqualify BJP leader Varun Gandhi from contesting the Lok Sabha elections from Pilibhit as his recent speech in the constituency “flouted” rules of the country.

“Since the Election Commission has the prima facie evidence, it should move urgently towards disqualification of such a candidate, as per the law and the rules of the country,”According to CPI(M) Politburo member Brinda Karat.

Condemning Varun Gandhi’s recent speech at Pilibhit recently that drew flak from all corners, Brinda criticised the BJP for “allotting ticket to him”.
