India Elections : Vishva Hindu Parishad to support BJP

Vishva Hindu Parishad announced support to the Bharatiya Janata Party in the Lok Sabha elections. Its leader Ashok Singhal said that saints will support BJP candidates and will campaign for them.

VHP chief Ashok Singhal who till recently was a bitter critic of Chief Minister Narendra Modi to the extent of calling him a modern day Ghazni for demolishing temples in Gandhinagar declared that his outfit was all for Modi and the BJP.

Since the BJP has agreed to the sants 11-point demand in the interest of Hindu society, it has salvaged the Hindu pride and the VHP will now support it in the elections, Singhal said, adding that this will be the first time that the Sangh Parivar cadres would go door to door seeking votes for the BJP.
