The Supreme Court on Friday extended the parole of BJP leader Varun Gandhi till May 14. The BJP candidate from Pilibhit has been booked under the National Security Act for allegedly making hate speeches.
The SC order would help Mr Gandhi to campaign for the party till the last phase of the Lok Sabha polls.
The extension of the interim bail will enable 29-year-old BJP candidate from Pilibhit to campaign in the remaining two phases of polling. A bench headed by chief justice KG Balakrishnan said the conditions imposed in granting him parole on April 16 would remain in place.
