India Elections : Nitish Kumar denies plans to align with Congress

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Monday described as “unfounded and without any basis” his Delhi counterpart Shiela Dixit’s claim that the JD(U) may align with the Congress after the elections.

He called Sheila Dikshits claim as baseless. Nitish said, We have no connections with the Congress party.

We share many opinions with Left like on nuke deal, etc but it doesnt mean that there are any chances of alliance between us, Nitish categorically remarked.

“Nitish Kumar has hinted at aligning with the Congress, but has not not confirmed as yet (about it). He is waiting for the election results to be out to decide which party to support,” Shiela Dixit had told the TV channel.

There are speculations in the political circle that JD(U) may sever links with BJP and join UPA after the elections. But the BJP and JD-U spokespersons had reiterated that there was no such possibility.
