It seems where ever Mohammad Azharuddin goes; controversies and problems follow him invariably. In a recent incident, a case of violation of the Code of Conduct has been lodged against the controversial cricketer-turned-politician in Muradabad.
‘A case has been registered against Azharuddin after he distributed election pamphlets, which did not bear the name and address of publisher and printer, to voters in Badhapur village in Bijnore district May 7,’ additional superintendent of police R.
The case was registered late Friday at the Nageena Dehat police station in Bijnore, he added.
As per the model code of conduct, candidates and their supporters can only distribute those pamphlets, handbills and posters that carry name and address of printer and publisher, so a check can be maintained on political parties, candidates and supporters incurring unauthorised election expenditure, police said.
