Maharashtra Assembly Elections : BJP and Shiv Sena to finalise seat-sharing

Bharatiya Janata Party has made up its mind to go with its traditional ally, the Shiv Sena, in the coming state assembly elections and there is no question of hobnobbing with Raj Thackeray-led Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS).

Announcing this on Thursday, BJP’s organisational in-charge of Maharashtra Kaptan Singh Solanki said the party meeting scheduled in Mumbai on Saturday will discuss modalities for seat-sharing with the Shiv Sena. Subsequently, the two parties will sit together and finalise the seat-sharing formula.

The BJP meeting on Saturday will take decisions on all poll-related matters like the number of seats it would contest, the issues that are to be highlighted during the campaign and also whether to have a joint poll manifesto with the Sena or have its own.
