In a move that can only diminish all chances of it putting up a fight against the ruling Congress, BJP announced that its alliance talks with Kuldeep Bishnoi’s Haryana Janhit Congress (HJC) have failed.
The party would go it alone for the assembly elections in the state next month contesting all 90 seats.
The two parties had been holding talks for a tie-up after BJP broke its alliance with INLD and HJC walked out of its alliance with SP'>BSP, in the hope of putting up a fair contest against the Bhupinder Hooda government.
BJP has been insisting on going into the polls without projecting a chief ministerial face. The party could not agree on Bishnoi as a CM candidate on the ground that he is a “light weight”. It is learnt to have insisted on Bhajan Lal instead.
