NSUI candidate was declared winner for the post of joint secretary.
A dismal 35 per cent of the students of the Delhi University turned out to vote to elect their new union on Friday, following an election campaign that was watered down and without much fervour.
The voting that was held across the campus under tight security concluded at 7pm with the electorate from 51 DU colleges sealing the fate of 41 candidates for the four DUSU panel posts.
As many as 943 EVMs had been pressed into service for the election. While 111 centres were set up for college elections, 130 were for the DUSU panel election.
A total of 11 candidates are contesting for the post of DUSU president in the election, while 30 other candidates are vying for the three posts of Vice President, Secretary and Joint Secretary.
