JMM to fight Bihar Assembly Elections

JMM chief Shibu Soren said his party has prepared to fight the Bihar assembly election next month.

Soren said JMM leaders were chalking out strategy to make other political parties feel their strong presence in the elections. JMM, which has not contested the last Bihar assembly election in 2005, will field their candidates from five districts.

JMM has fought Bihar assembly election in 2001 but lost every seat. JMM then fielded candidates from 11 seats, including Katihar, Purnia, Banka, Katoria, Chakai and other places. Seeing the party has done well in Jharkhand assembly election earlier this year, the JMM leaders, including deputy chief minister Hemant Soren with his younger brother Basant, have shown interest in contesting Bihar assembly election this time.
