NDA alliance, appears set for a landslide two-thirds victory

The NDA alliance of JD(U) and BJP, led by Nitish Kumar, appears set for a landslide two-thirds victory in the Assembly elections in Bihar with the ruling combine surging ahead in 200 of the 243 seats for which trends were available.

Nitish Kumar will be sworn in as the chief minister on Friday at the Gandhi Maidan in Patna, According to sources.

JD(U) and BJP have so far won 112 seats in the 243-member House. JD(U) has won 64, BJP 54. Opposition RJD-LJP alliance was way behind, with RJD winning 7 and LJP 1. Independents have picked up 2.

Congress, which went alone in the elections, has won 4 seats. Others are ahead in 4 seats.
