DMK, PMK rejoin in poll pact in Tamil Nadu

Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) supremo and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister K Karunanidhi allotted 31 seats to the Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) for the coming elections to the State Legislative Assembly.

The announcement came a day after the meeting of Anbumani Ramadoss, the former Union Health Minister and son of PMK founder-president S Ramadoss, with Congress President Sonia Gandhi in New Delhi put the PMK back in the DMK-Congress led aliance in the state.

The allocation of seats to the PMK, besides a Rajya Sabha seat, came swiftly at a meeting between Dr Ramadoss and Mr Karunanidhi at the latter’s Gopalapuram residence , as part of the agreement. The discussions lasted more than an hour.
