UP polls: Congress will top in UP

Digvijaya Singh sounded confident of his party occupying either the first or the second spot in Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections. Singh said that he would hold himself responsible if the Congress did not do very well in the elections and failed to secure the top or the second position after the votes are counted on March 6.

Singh alleged that in the last 22 years no state government in Uttar Pradesh has looked into the problems of weavers, for whom a special package of Rs 6,000 crore has been announced by the Centre. He also said that there was a lack of awareness among the weavers about the packages given to them by the UPA government.
