With just two days left of the January 30 Uttarakhand Assembly polls, the election scenario in the state today hotted up with the ruling BJP raking up the issue of Bofors gun deal and other scandals. On the other hand, Congress attacked BJP on changing chief ministers frequently to hide its alleged scams and asked the people to vote for it on development plank. The party promised to give industry status to tourism sector. In a renewed campaign through local media and pamphlets, the ruling BJP highlighted the alleged Bofors scam where it alleged that the Swedish government paid a kickback of Rs 64 crore to clinch the gun deal during the Rajiv Gandhi government.
