UP Polls: Mayawati allegation on Congress for state backwardness

Addressing a rally at the Parade Grounds on Thursday, SP'>BSP chief and UP CM Mayawati blamed the Congress a faulty policies for the poverty and unemployment in the state. She said that Congress ruled the state for as many as 40 years after independence and is thus responsible for widespread poverty, which also led to migration of people to other states for livelihood.

She also stressed that her government has send proposal of Rs 36,000 for the development of the Poorvaanchal region but the Centre did not released the amount. She held Congress government responsible for rising inflation rates that has affected the poor and middle class section of the society.
