Goa Polls: BJP-MGP first joint rally in temple town

Goa Assembly elections 2012, state’s second largest party, Bhartiya Janata Patry (BJP) addressed a massive crowd in the temple town Ponda, Sunday evening. BJP’s joint rally with its new coalition partner Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party (MGP) doled out several promises to electorates including increasing the social security benefit.

The benefit will increase to Rs 2000 from the existing Rs 1000 once the alliance is voted to power. We also promise to disburse Rs 1000 per month to every woman in the state,” BJP’s Manohar Parrikar, who pioneered Dayanand Social Security Scheme in the state in 2001, told the crowd.
