UP Polls: District dministration Send report to EC on Jaiswal’s Comments

The district administration has sent a detailed report regarding Union Minister Sriprakash Jaiswal’s controversial comments on the possibility of imposition of President’s rule in Uttar Pradesh to the Chief Election Officer (CEO) of the state. The CEO has been requested to forward the report to the Election Commission in New Delhi, District Magistrate Hari Om said.

Jaiswal, who came under fire from rival parties for his comments, later retracted his statement, claiming it was “twisted” by reporters. He claimed that his statement was a response to a question by some scribes, asking him about the constitutional provisions in case no party is able to form the government.
