BJP leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said Congress has accepted defeat with a “self goal”, while pointing towards the statement of Congress leader Sriprakash Jaiswal that there was a possibility of President’s rule in UP. Union Minister Jaiswal had said yesterday that if Congress fails to get a majority in UP Assembly polls he sees a possibility of President’s rule. Naqvi said that even before the declaration of results SP'>BSP and SP have “lost the game”. He was speaking in Nehru Nagar area of the city.
Naqvi also said parties like Congress and SP would be “disappointed” with the results. With high turn out in the five phases of elections in the state, the picture is getting clearer that the voters are against corruption, castism and misuse of funds in parks and statues.
