Goa polls: 70.13% polling recorded till 3pm

Goa polls voting began on Today morning to elect a new 40-member Assembly amidst tight security. The polling started at 7 am and till 3 pm 70.13%people cast their vote. A total of 10.25 lakh voters, spread over two districts – North Goa and South Goa – are will exercise their franchise at 1,612 polling booths, which will be manned by 10,644 security personnel, officials said. Joint Chief Electoral Officer Narayan Navti said all measures have been taken to ensure a fair and free election in the state.

The Election Commission has also identified 180 critical and vulnerable polling booths in the state, which will be kept under special supervision of micro observers.
